Here’s what you need to know about accessing Kharis Haven
Our services are designed for women who meet specific criteria to ensure that those most in need benefit from the care we provide.
Eligibility Criteria: Women seeking access to our Mother Homes must meet specific criteria, including limited access to healthcare due to distance, financial hardship despite coverage from the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and being within a certain age range. We also consider income and expenditure through a detailed assessment.
Referral Process: Referrals are accepted from healthcare professionals who identify mothers that could benefit from our services. Women can also self-refer, though they must meet the eligibility requirements to be considered for admission.
Programs Offered: During their stay, mothers will have access to a wide range of programs, including prenatal and postnatal care, parenting workshops, mental health support, and financial independence training. For women seeking economic empowerment, we provide opportunities to engage in our Avannah Merchandise Program, where they can craft and sell goods, with proceeds going back into supporting the charity.
Care Packages: We provide essential care packages to all women upon arrival, including toiletries and baby care items. Upon departure, mothers receive additional packages to support them and their newborns in the early postpartum period. For women seeking financial independence, we offer a one-time social capital grant to help them begin their journey toward self-sufficiency.
